Kite Aerial Photography in California 2002 - November 1-6, 2002
KAPiCA/02, the first ever KAP conference held in the United States, attracted 52 registered participants from 17 states, 2 provinces of Canada, and 8 European countries. KAPiCA/02 was held in Pacific Grove at Asilomar, a state owned conference center overlooking the Pacific ocean.
The conference covered a wide range of topics for the beginner, the experienced KAPer and for special applications in research and commerce. On Sunday evening 7 KAPers were honored for outstanding contributions to various areas of KAP.
Sunday also saw a special recognition to Brooks Leffler for his 70th birthday and for his efforts in organizing the conference. (Notice the round buttons that some are wearing in the photo below that said, "Brooks is 70")
In the coming weeks more details of KAPiCA/02 will be published here. As an appetizer, enjoy the wonderful group picture below taken by John Leffler with a Horizon panoramic camera. Also visit Peter Bults' Digital Encyclopaedia of KAP to see some other pictures from KAPiCA/02.
