Elvie was one of the newcomers to KAP in attendance at KAPiCA/02. She is an undergraduate at California State University Monterey Bay majoring in Earth Systems Science & Policy with a concentration in Watershed Systems. Elvie became interested in KAP for use as a tool for her Senior year Capstone project.
Elvie skipped classes on Monday to participate in the basic R/C rig building workshop. She used her new rig to take the aerial photos on this page. She skipped classes again Tuesday to hear the presentations about scientific uses of KAP.

Elvie says about her capstone project;
"I'm trying to determine the erosion rates of channels, banks or other geomorphic changes. One of my main studies right now is to determine the rate of erosion occurring in several gullies located at the former Ft. Ord - now being run by the Bureau of Land Management."
